One of the original mosquito survey traps developed in response to disease outbreaks in the 1930's, the New Jersey light trap remains among the most productive and efficient traps available. It indicates the species and relative abundance of mosquito populations, and helps formulate hatch predictions. Careful, sturdy trap construction ensures many years of service. The body and top are fabricated of stainless steel. All trap components, including 120V AC electrical system, fan, and 25-watt 'Rough Duty' lamp, are manufactured in the U.S. A chain for hanging, 30 x 30 mesh stainless steel interior funnel, and 1/4" mesh excluding screen are provided. The trapping container is a one-pint polypropylene jar. If wanted, alcohol (1183A), propylene glycol (1186A) or a no-pest strip (1196) can be placed in the jar, but they are not needed for the trap to work for its intended purpose. The trap may be equipped with an optional photocell, or programmable 7-day, 24-hour timer, greatly reducing labor hours required to service the trap. Overall height is 25", top is 15"; trap cylinder is 9.5" (64, 38, 24 cm). UPS oversize (30 lb.) rate applies.
