Black light (ultra violet) collecting lights attract many orders of night flying insects, providing maximum insect response from the UV spectrum. The three models offered by BioQuip are the result of continued research and development. They are well-suited to their specialized applications, and are adaptable for use with a variety of insect traps or in sheet collecting. Lights have a 15-watt black light tube, protected by blue polyethylene mesh (included) which helps avoid accidental breakage yet allows incoming insects to be exposed to the full range of UV light. They have full 360° exposure, and are weather resistant. A 10-foot low-voltage cord leads from the remote ballast or transistor housing, and a wire hanger is provided. Lights are 18" long, excluding ballast. Being light in weight, 2 lbs. or less, they are conveniently packed for travel. Replacement tubes and mesh sleeves are available. Please note that most ballasted fluorescent fixtures will not operate correctly when used with a nonsinusoidal waveform converter.
2805 DC Light - is operated from 12-volt DC systems used in most vehicles and many portable power sources. It is equipped with a DC cigarette light connector. BioQuip's 2861 12-volt DC portable battery pack is recommended for use with this light when access to a vehicle's battery is not available. 2804 AC/DC Light - combination AC/DC light incorporates electrical functions of both the 2805 and 2806 lights. It operates on either power source by selecting the proper AC or DC power cord/connector and switch position. BioQuip's 2861 12-volt portable battery pack is recommended for DC use with this light when access to a vehicle's battery is not available 2806 AC Light - uses 120 volt, 60 Hz alternating current, and plugs into standard U.S. electrical outlets. A self-polarized AC connector is supplied. Replacement 2807A (NSN: 6240-01-458-2140) BL tubes and 2807M protective mesh sleeve are available. 2808 Tube Protector PVC protector 2808 for 15W fluorescent tubes. Excellent for protection while traveling and storage. 2807X -20W self-ballasted fluorescent Black Light tube for use in 110VAC lamp sockets.
